Drones are not permitted to fly over the Church of the Good Shepherd or the Tekapo Village as we are within 4kms of the Tekapo aerodrome. The Church is also located on both private property and council land therefore requiring permission for drone flying.

Flying drones over private land is managed by the New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority which requires operators of drones to obtain written or verbal consent from all land owners and people you intend to fly above. The Civil Aviation Authority also restricts flying of drones within 4km of an airport. Flying of drones over the Church of the Good Shepherd and its surrounds is therefore not permitted.
